Components enabling exploitation of THz sensing have only recently become commercial and reliable. The Diagnostics Center is leveraging these advancements to develop THz-based, interferometric sensing modalities for plasma diagnostics that overcome many of the optical fouling and complexity of traditional laser-based techniques while being more spatially precise and compact than many RF-based diagnostics.
