Who We are
The Advanced Computing Center of Excellence brings together a team of scientists: Mathematicians, Theoretical Physicists, Computational Chemists and Computer Scientists. This team addresses large scale challenges through effective design and application of computational techniques. The team leverages deep understanding of their respective specialties with experience and knowledge of computational and network function conjoined with a scientific problem to enable efficient and scalable solutions. Efforts are focused on Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing (HPC), Quantum Information Science (QIS) and Quantum Information Technology (QIT).
The General Atomics Advanced Computing Center's mission is to collaboratively solve impactful scientific and technological problems with transformative approaches by utilizing advanced computer science techniques with knowledge and experience of several years of scientific research.
The Advanced Computing Center leverages the power of advanced computing software and hardware to enable valuable solutions to challenges outside the capability of more traditional or main-stream computing. Developing and applying solutions in machine learning, software design for quantum computing systems, or creating efficient and scalable HPC software to run on the world's fastest computers are just some examples.

The Center for Advanced Computing welcomes collaborations with principal investigators in academia, national laboratories, and industry to complement knowledge and experimental capabilities to enable solutions to real world challenges and applications. We are interested to lead or participate in multidisciplinary academic-industry teams to apply for competitive funding.
