Center for Advanced Computing

Transforming basic-research into applications to enable technology advancements

Capabilities & Resources

In addition to running on Leadership Class Supercomputers, the Advanced Computing has a broad range of computing architectures to facilitate testing, debugging and code development.

Some available compute architectures mimic those of ALCF's Theta supercomputer and OLCF's Summit, while highly parallel BeeGFS storage system enables rapid data throughput.

This co-development approach between hardware and software allows the Center to remain nimble at the cutting-edge, for example the CGYRO code was ported, with optimized kernels, for running on the Summit supercomputer before the machine even came online for the first time.
