EMS Facilities

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) maintains facilities across the United States to support our customers.

San Diego, CA: Multiple facilities totaling over 265,000 square feet supporting engineering, research and development, quality assurance, customer support, and manufacturing and testing.  A training facility, shipset control lab, and software subscale lab are also located in San Diego.   

Tupelo, MS:  State-of-the-art manufacturing and test facility totaling 367,000 square feet supporting the design, manufacture, test, and production of various products for GA and its customers. This facility also offers contract manufacturing services.

Washington, DC: Business development and government program office support.

Newport News, VA:  Supporting Newport News Shipbuilding activities for the U.S. Navy and related contract work.

Lakehurst, NJ:  Supporting test, logistics and manufacture of Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) systems.

Huntsville, AL: GA-EMS has recently expanded to Huntsville, AL.  Our Huntsville team adds a depth of knowledge and technical expertise in areas related to hypersonic vehicles, small satellites, and security and surveillance, enhancing GA-EMS’ ability to continue delivering innovative technology solutions to the defense and aerospace markets.

All GA-EMS facilities have an ISO 9001:2008-certified quality management system. The company is compliant with the U.S. government's International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) for export of defense-related products and services.
