Waveguide Pumpout Tees

General Atomics produces two types of pumpout tees for evacuating the interior of high-power waveguide transmission lines. The first type has very high vacuum conductance used near the end of transmission lines that have no vacuum window, such as near a tokamak plasma. The second type has a simple gap in the waveguide effective for waveguide transmission lines with vacuum windows on both ends. Both types are broadband.

63.5 mm waveguide high-conductance vacuum pumpout tee
63.5 mm waveguide high-conductance vacuum pumpout tee. This tee can be supplied with 80-120 GHz or 100-180 GHz bandwidths.
Slotted corrugated waveguide for interior of high-conductance pumpout tee
Slotted corrugated waveguide for interior of high-conductance pumpout tee. The corrugations are not broken under the slots so that the microwave leakage is very small.
63.5 mm waveguide gap-type vacuum pumpout tee
63.5 mm waveguide gap-type vacuum pumpout tee. Main part is fabricated from one piece of aluminum to provide superior alignment of input and output waveguides. This tee is equipped with rf screens under the CF flanges to prevent microwave leakage into the pumps. It can be cooled for continuous high power operation.
