General Atomics Uranium Resources
Innovation and Leadership Across the Nuclear Fuel Cycle
General Atomics Uranium Resources (GAUR), through its affiliates, contributes to the front-end nuclear fuel cycle with active uranium ISR production, uranium exploration, future uranium ISR development, uranium trading and agency, and a UF6 conversion services joint venture.
Heathgate Resources
As Australia's first uranium ISR operation, Heathgate's Beverley/Four Mile mine has continuously operated for over 25 years. To date, it has supplied more than 65 million pounds of U3O8 to nuclear power customers worldwide.
Grants Energy
The Grants Precision ISR Project in New Mexico will develop the nation's largest contiguous uranium resource. With a projected 30-year mine life, Grants ISR will pioneer horizontal well technology for uranium recovery and strengthen U.S. energy security.
TRIGA® International
TRIGA® (Training, Research, Isotopes, General Atomics) fuel is produced at TRIGA International, a joint venture between General Atomics and Framatome. GA's TRIGA reactor is the most widely used non-power nuclear reactor in the world.
Nuclear Fuels Corporation
Nuclear Fuels Corporation (NFC) markets all production from General Atomics' uranium mining assets and is also active in uranium trading. Insights gained through NFC's activities contribute to a robust market analysis and modelling toolkit and supports new business growth.
ConverDyn
GAUR is a partner in the ConverDyn joint venture with Solstice Advanced Materials (formerly Honeywell). ConverDyn purchases and markets UF6 conversion services from Solstice's Metropolis, Illinois facility. The Metropolis plant feeds natural uranium (U3O8) and produces uranium hexafluoride (UF6) for enrichment into nuclear fuel.
- Celebrating 25+ years as owner and operator of one of the top 10 uranium mines in the world, producing 4-5 million pounds of uranium per year in South Australia.
- Permitting the largest contiguous uranium resource in the U.S. near Grants, New Mexico which will displace imports and increase U.S. energy security.
- Selling more than 65 million pounds of U3O8 to global customers during the past two decades.
- Partner in the ConverDyn joint venture, which sells UF6 conversion services to utility customers from the only U.S. uranium conversion facility at Metropolis, Illinois.
- GA's TRIGA® (Training, Research, Isotopes, General Atomics) reactor is the most widely used non-power nuclear reactor in the world. GA has installed 66 TRIGA reactors at universities, government and industrial laboratories, and medical centers in 24 countries.
