We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2026 Workshop on RF Heating Technology to be held this year at the General Atomics Torrey Pines campus in San Diego, California, USA. The workshop is being organized by the Magnetic Fusion Energy Division of General Atomics.

The goal of the workshop is to foster international collaboration between experts in the field of high power microwave generation, transmission and delivery. This year’s workshop comes at a particularly timely moment. As RF-based fusion technology advances toward commercialization, the community continues to face significant technical challenges as ambitious plasma heating systems are being planned. At the same time, these technologies are finding application beyond fusion, including areas such as drilling for geothermal systems and advanced radar systems. This workshop provides an important forum to discuss these challenges and emerging solutions.

The workshop will take place over three days and will include a tour of the DIII-D National Fusion Facility. A banquet will be provided for all registered attendees, with additional guest tickets available for purchase.

General Atomics in Torrey Pines is 15.5 miles (25 km) from San Diego International Airport (SAN). The surrounding area offers a wide range of attractions and activities, including the beaches of Del Mar, scenic hiking at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, and boutique shopping in La Jolla Village. In addition, the DIII-D National Fusion Facility is in close proximity to the Torrey Pines campus.

Registration Fee
The registration for the RF Heating Technology Workshop is $250 US. Payment is in advance by credit card through GA's website payment portal. Social events and tour of the DIII-D National Fusion Facility is included.
