Stainless Steel Waveguides

Stainless-steel waveguides are often used to withstand high temperatures and to provide resistance to eddy currents. GA has manufactured many corrugated stainless-steel waveguides with lengths up to 2.1 meters. The interiors are usually plated with electrolytic nickel to reduce the ohmic loss of the transmitted HE11 mode and associated heating. For high-power pulse lengths longer than about 100 seconds, or with high average transmitted power, cooling is usually required.
