Jun 24, 2010

Kaysville, Utah, June 21, 2010: General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI) has been awarded a $1.3M multi-year task order by Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC) under the Design Engineering Support Program (DESP II) services contract to provide technical order systems malfunction analysis and consolidation for the United States Air Force (USAF) 827th Aircraft Sustainment Group (827 ACSG) at Tinker Air Force Base.  The 827 ACSG is the program office with fleet responsibility for the C/KC-135 aircraft which is the backbone of USAF mobility, providing air refuel and transport support to United States and Allied forces.  GA-SI has been providing engineering services to 827 ACSG since 2006 and this is the sixth C/KC-135 award to GA-SI.

GA-SI will improve the quality and usability of the C/KC-135 maintenance technical orders under this contract. These improvements will have a direct positive influence on the safety and supportability of the aircraft.  GA-SI will: 1) consolidate 43 ground handling maintenance technical order volumes into one, 2) analyze and modify previously consolidated technical orders to establish a cohesive format across the entire C/KC-135 library, and 3) create new and revised mechanical and electrical system malfunction logic trees using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) techniques and processes.
