DC Breaks

General Atomics fabricates DC breaks using small gaps in corrugated waveguides. Aluminum oxide insulators align the input and output waveguides with the required voltage isolation.

High power waveguide DC breaks for HE11 mode in 63.5 mm waveguide at 100-200 GHz. The waveguide has a small gap. Cooling can be provided in the aluminum body (as shown to the right) or with a copper tube embedded around the outer circumference of the body.
